A characterful 19th century Scroll-Back Windsor Chair. Likely made in Oxford around 1860-80, this is a sturdy, versatile and very usable chair. As well as being a wonderful decorative antique it's also a delightful occasional chair, useful in the kitchen, living room, bedroom, hallway or wherever you'd like to add a lovely slice of authentic Victorian craftsmanship.
This particular chair features a broad curved top-rail with a turned and centrally flattened cross splat between curving back supports that fit into the solid single-piece elm saddle-seat. Finished on turned front legs and matching back legs, linked by wonderfully worn H-shaped stretchers. Makers stamp to the rear of the seat T.W.
Structurally in very solid condition. Please note, split to the rear left of the seat. As such, priced accordingly. Please see images for details.
