A wonderful 19th century hand coloured aquatint and etching of the sailing ship HMS Winchester.
Inscribed to the bottom of the image "To Edward Griffith Colpoys Esqre. Vice Admiral of the White, This Plate of H. M. S. Winchester Is Respectfully Dedicated by Captain C. J. Austen and the Officers of that Ship." by E Duncan after W J Huggins published 1830 by W. J. Huggins 105 Leadenhall Street.
The overall condition is excellent, with close inspection of the print showing a light crease to the right hand side where it has previously been folded . Additionally, this piece has been freshly mounted and re-framed by my local framer and the end result with the new grey / green mount has given this image a real vibrancy.
