A wonderful 19th century coloured aquatint and etching of the sailing ship HCS Macqueen.
Inscribed to the bottom of the image H.C.S. MACQUEEN ( Honourable Company Ship )"OFF THE START" 26th January 1832. Painted by W.J.Huggins (Marine Painter to His Majesty). Engraved by C Rosenburg. Published 1834 by W J Huggins 105 Leadenhall Street.
The overall condition is excellent, with close inspection of the print showing a light crease to the right hand side where it has previously been folded . Additionally, this piece has been freshly mounted and re-framed by my local framer and the end result with the new grey / green mount has given this image a real vibrancy.
