An antique late 19th / century low pine chest with a single drawer to the front which features two brass drop handles, a brass lock escutcheon and a dark grey painted interior.  Finished on a carved base. 
 
The overall condition is very good with associated wear and tear to the later added chalk paint finish.  This unit was probably part of a larger house keepers cupboard which has been separated from its top section, but would make a useful side table or television stand in a modern home.
